Jonah Urie comes from a family of philanthropists so it only seemed natural that he would follow in his father’s footsteps… His father works for the disabled in Lake Stevens at Sherwood Community Services.
At 10 yrs old he has donated 3500 to the City of Snohomish Parks by selling handmade bracelets for 2.00 each, baking sweet treats, and with his go fund me account.
This is a child with a vision and hopefully a future leader in his community who is well on his way. He has met with the big politicians and spoke in front of numerous groups.
The City of Snohomish created a committee to rename the parks. A 13 yr resident and a 28 yr resident were appointed to the committee, but when Jonah applied Mayor Guzak basically said you’re cute kid, but you’re not welcome here.
Her excuse? He was too young, but not so young that she had any reservations about having her hand out for the 3500 that he and the community raised.
VOTE SMARTER people. I am going to be doing a series of stories on this woman and there are many. Unfortunately I was not made aware of these stories until after the election or I could’ve informed the voters but it is still not too late for a recall effort.
