Evidently if you are a child victim of rape if you don’t report it immediately Rob McKenna thinks you’re making it up.
McKenna says, on the advice of his attorneys, Ryan took a polygraph exam and passed. McKenna says another reason they’re convinced he’s innocent is the long period of time between the alleged incident and the accusation being made.
Especially if the alleged rapist is a close personal friend or a client. It is unknown why Rob McKenna is considered one of Ryan’s attorneys when Ryan was McKenna’s Campiagn Advisor.
The defense attorney of record, David Allen, told the prosecutor McKenna isn’t on the criminal case, but Ryan is McKenna’s client, so they’re “working closely together on this,” according to Richey’s motion.
The Bellingham Herald Reports that McKenna tried his very best to destroy the case for his client
In the meantime one of Ryan’s attorneys, McKenna, told local radio station KGMI he’s confident Ryan will be vindicated, in part because he passed a polygraph test, and because of how much time passed before the report was made, according to the station’s online story on the arrest.
A deputy prosecutor, Eric Richey, countered in a court motion that McKenna omitted the fact Ryan failed a polygraph test at the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, and the test Ryan passed had been paid for by his defense.
As a general rule, polygraph test results aren’t admissible in court in Washington state. “Lie detectors” have beenwidely criticizedas inaccurate. The state’s Rules of Professional Conduct instruct lawyers not to publicize details about evidence that is likely inadmissible at trial.
“As the former Washington State Attorney General, Mr. McKenna should know better than to make extrajudicial statements to KGMI in violation of RPC 3.6,” Richey wrote in his motion. “The entire media stunt was designed to prejudice the state’s case against the defendant and possibly shake the victim’s confidence.”
What is still hard to comprehend is the fact that a man, Rob McKenna, who was charged with protecting the state at one time, would throw an alleged child victim under a bus simply because Mr Ryan is his buddy. Oddly enough if you look back at Mr McKenna’s tenure the only crime he did not seem to champion was child sex abuse except for a few events he was required to attend.
As per the norm with anyone involved with politics and money… This person works at or owns a place called “Multop Financial” but it is registered as a different name, and they seem to focus on professional athletes.
What is really alarming is this man’s drug and violence history…

According to the SEC the firm is supposed to disclose his criminal record to perspective clients as well so that makes me think that that either they are not doing it or that there are a whole lot of people willing to put their money in the hands of a violent burglar
Even more disturbing then his criminal record, is his record of putting himself in situations and positions where he has access to kids. It doesn’t appear that they did a background check on Mr Ryan either, which is why it is so important for parents to demand that any group working with children provide those before handing your kids over to them or letting anyone alone with them.
At some point in time he was on the board of the Michael Koenen Foundation which has attached Jake Lockers name that provides football camps
Executive director of the Michael Koenen Foundation and long-time friend of Koenen, Tyler Ryan, said the goal of the camp and the Michael Koenen Foundation is to provide kids with positive role models, while preaching to them to stay in school and to stay away from drugs and gangs.
They have a facebook but their webpage has been suspended
They also seem to own a slaughterhouse, and a farm (which are the same place)
He also seems to be involved in Bellingham Angel Investors but it is unclear if he is still an active member but it appears that they didn’t do a background check on him either. Burglary is a crime of theft which usually precludes you from working with money. (We have sent a request for comment and will post when we get it) They responded and said Mr Ryan has not been involved with them since 2011 and were not aware of his past issues
Considering that Tyler Ryan also helped Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo get elected, it really makes you wonder what all Mr Ryan has gotten away with already. The fact that he was involved in Rob McKenna and Bill Elfo’s campaigns and his criminal history was never an issue lets you know what type of people they will fraternize with just to get a “win”, sadly that win may have come at the expense of a young girl’s innocence.
